OKLAHOMA – Recently, Operation Blessing teams in Moore, Okla., received a call requesting help for a family whose home was in danger of falling into a river swollen with rain and littered with debris from two massive tornadoes. The water had flooded the river’s banks and erosion soon claimed one outbuilding and threatened a barn and guest house. The main house was also at risk of collapsing.
The request for help came just as volunteers from The Cheesecake Factory were completing their safety briefing and orientation with Operation Blessing’s disaster relief staff. When our team told them about the situation, The Cheesecake Factory volunteers jumped into action without hesitation and were soon helping the family pack up their furniture and belongings before their home tumbled into the river.
Every day this week, volunteers from The Cheesecake Factory have been working diligently alongside Operation Blessing to aid tornado victims in Oklahoma with debris removal and other cleanup.
