Throughout our field travels, Operation Blessing staff have had the opportunity to visit some of the most impoverished regions of the world. Yet hidden in those places of extreme poverty and disaster are also glimpses of God’s beauty and wonder. Take a look at some of these “heaven on earth” moments captured by our field staff.
Haiti – House with a blue door in the Haitian countryside. Through medical distributions, clean water projects and more, Operation Blessing is helping transform the lives of Haitian families facing poverty.
Niger – Sunset in Niger, Africa. Through animal fattening projects, community farms, clean water projects and more, Operation Blessing is helping provide families with sustainable food and income.
Israel – Flowers bloom outside the garden tomb in Jerusalem where Christ was buried. In Israel, Operation Blessing is providing monthly support to elderly Holocaust survivors as well as reaching poverty-stricken families with much needed food and relief.
Mali – Fishermen “sail” across a river in Mali, Africa. After families fled their homes due to internal conflicts and fighting, Operation Blessing teams provided food and emergency relief to displaced families to help them survive until it is safe to return home.
Haiti – A flash of lightening brightens up the evening sky in Seguin, Haiti. Here, OBI has provided free medicine to support a community medical clinic.
Guatemala – A colorful row of houses in Antigua, Guatemala. Throughout Guatemala, Operation Blessing runs programs that feed malnourished children, provide agricultural training to impoverished families, offer free dental care to remote communities and more.
Kenya – Zebras graze in the open fields of Kimana, Kenya. Thanks to an Operation Blessing-supported feeding program at a local school as well as a new well, drip irrigation system and community farm, families in Kimana now have sustainable food solutions even in times of drought.
Peru – Ocean sunset off the coast of Lima, Peru. Across the country, children and families are benefiting from Operation Blessing’s nutritional feeding programs, medical care, hygiene training, gardening projects, life skills training in baking, and more.
Niger – Millet crops in Niger, Africa. To aid this famine-stricken region, Operation Blessing has built 17 food banks where families can sell and purchase millet (at a lower than market price) to sustain them during times of severe drought or crop failure.
Haiti – A Haitian “boat taxi” ferries a passenger across the Artibonite River that was contaminated by cholera in 2010. In response to the widespread outbreak in this region, Operation Blessing teams brought jerrycans to villagers, providing them with a safe means to purify their drinking water.
West Bank – A shepherd guides his sheep and livestock along the rocky terrain of the West Bank. To help struggling families, Operation Blessing distributes food and supplies, holds medical and dental outreaches, and offers job skills training and other support for disabled individuals.
China – A young girl walks through fields of yellow flowers in Yao Jin, China. Following a devastating earthquake that destroyed their village, Operation Blessing rebuilt all 54 homes and also helped launch a livelihood project to jumpstart their economy and help villagers earn an income.
Haiti – Fishing boats dot the shoreline of Lake Azuei in Medan Belize, Haiti. In this remote and impoverished community, Operation Blessing has conducted food and clean water distributions, helped build a school, and held medical clinics to improve the lives of families.
